Configuring Outlook 2003

This article describes how to securely connect to Denetron's mail servers using Microsoft Outlook 2003.

To configure Outlook 2003 follow these steps:

  1. Launch Outlook 2003

  2. If you have not used Outlook before, you may be prompted with the Email Accounts wizard. If so, please skip to step 4.
  3. From the Tools menu select Email Accounts.

  4. Select Add a new e-mail account and click Next.

  5. Select IMAP as the Server type and click Next.

  6. Fill in Your Name and Email Address under the User Information section. Under Server Information the Incoming mail server (IMAP) and Outgoing mail server (SMTP) should be set to mail.denetron.com. Finally, under Login Information, provide your Email Address for the User Name and your Password. Then click the More Settings button.

  7. Select the Outgoing Server tab. Verify that My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked and Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

  8. Select the Advanced tab. Verify that This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL) is checked for both the Incoming server (IMAP) and Outgoing server (SMTP). Then click OK to close the dialog and Next to continue.

  9. Click Finish to complete your email account setup.

  10. You many now select the Inbox for the new account.

  11. To check your email, press the Send/Recieve button on the toolbar.
